Introduction
Korraman Agro-Industry Company (Applied Research Laboratory of Medicinal
Plants in Lorestan Province) was established as a cooperative in 1994, and was registered under the number 535 by the provincial Organization for Registration of Deeds and Properties. It took a period of two years to produce and install its machinery, and it received its exploitation license from the Ministry of Industries and Mines. In 1990, by receiving its establishment license for pharmaceutics laboratory from the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, it came to rate as one of the plant pharmaceutics in Iran. It managed to receive the license for producing the first plant medicine based upon the researches carried out by its Scientific Board of Researchers in 2002. The company lies on a land, being 5,500 square meters in area. Also, its production hall is 720 square meters in area. Moreover, its other parts such as offices, facilities, laboratory, installations, warehouse, distillation and essence-extracting system, laboratory facilities and production line cover an area of 600 square meters.
Field of Activity
Considering the abundance of medicinal plants and favorable climate in Lorestan Province, the company's field of activity includes producing effective medicinal substances out of provincial plants, and their changing into medicinal products according to the regulations approved by the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education, tending to work on shrubs and trees.
Range of Activity
More than 200 species of medicinal plants have been identified by scientific centers in Lorestan Province. However, due to various limitations, the issue has not been seriously studied yet. The company began to operate as a pharmaceutical company in the western part of Iran for the first time in order to put the potentials of medicinal plants into practice. At this center, a variety of researches are currently conducted on different medicinal species, and executive activities are being done on the two species in the table below.
